Gulf

The Hauraki Gulf is the aquatic playground of Auckland. Of all New Zealand’s seas, no others offer so much interest and variety as do those of Auckland’s east coast. Sheltered coastal bays, lead to the inner harbour islands extending out to the Coromandel, east to Aotea and north to Hauturu. Our prevailing wind is from the south-west so much of the seaboard is protected by the hilly mainland coast allowing us the privilege to find a myriad of ways to utilise this slice of paradise. I have tried to capture some of what the Gulf has meant to me through this series of photographs.
